Routine and Medical Eye Exams

After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois, Dr. Kamaljit Singh Westfall ventured to the east coast to attend the SUNY State College of Optometry in New York City. She elected to complete a post-graduate residency program at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT, where she had the opportunity to work alongside Yale University Eye Center residents and faculty. During her residency, she spent half her time in the primary eye care clinic, and the rest of the time providing low vision care to the legally blind veterans in the Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center. Kamal remained on staff as a part-time attending at the West Haven Veteran’s Hospital, for seven years. She was appointed as a clinical faculty member of the New England College of Optometry, through which she was involved with teaching optometry students and residents at the West Haven VAMC. Kamal also worked in a private ophthalmology practice in East Haven, CT as well as her own optometric practice, with her husband, Dr. Paul Westfall in Madison, CT prior to moving to Glens Falls in August 2011.

Kamal’s professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. She is also certified by the American Board of Optometry. Outside of optometry, Kamal is a volunteer for the World Awareness Children’s Museum in Glens Falls. She is also a co-chair of the Touch-A-Truck community fundraiser in Glens Falls.
